I am a loyal disciple of Juice Plus which I use every day and believe bolsters my immune system.

If that wasn’t enough there are also little inserts in my delivery which I read and are quite fruitful and interesting.

The following caught my eye: New research shows that allowing yourself to be bored is key to creativity. While out for a drive, a walk, or a run, resist the temptation to talk on the phone or listen to a podcast, and see if letting your mind roam free sparks new ideas.

I know that I get many of my ideas while I’m taking a shower or in my semi wakeful state during the predawn hour before I get out of bed in the morning.

I can’t  put my finger on exactly what or how this process works, but I know it works for me. What works for you?

Interesting as I do not need quiet per se. Noise is sometimes just background. Even music. It could even occur reading a blog.....

Yes! I always seem to have some of my best ideas in the shower. There is something about the water being a distraction or as an insulating effect and allowing you to think freely. Try it also when you put your head under the water in a hot tub or bath. Altered States!
Jane Jacobs

I've posted this to you blog before, but the first line of Haruki Murakami's What I Think about When I'm Running is:

“Somerset Maugham once wrote that in each shave lies a philosophy. I couldn't agree more. No matter how mundane some action might appear, keep at it long enough and it becomes contemplative, even meditative act.”
Cayce Crown

It is imperative to my well being to have quiet time. Also meditation sparks creativity.

My most creative ideas come to me during 'down times'...making my morning shake (yes, it's Juice Plus+), taking a shower, waiting in bed for the alarm to go off (I always wake a few minutes before), etc. I've taken to keeping my iPhone close so I can record the ideas when they come as I've lost many waiting until I had a chance to implement them.

I agree with all of the above - although I myself find it difficult to be alone with my thoughts- ha ha ha. Often while I'm driving or walking - while listening to music - my mind wanders and ideas cone.
Helen Keit

I’ve been surprised myself that good ideas seem to “pop up” when I’m in down time!

I think with the shower, being in the water is what does it much the same as being on the shore. Running and long walks work for me. The most important is being away from and off the phone letting my thoughts decide where they want to go.

Meditation and mindfulness are something my daughter has been trying to promote for me for years. As an aside taking a tape recorder into the shower is something I think about all the time

Walking with my dog Annie is a tailwaggingly good time for me to relax and think of ideas. I can tell her about them to see how they sound to her, too.. Oh, Fred, your comment about reading the juice inserts being quite fruitful was a good one!

I would like to add - I am an avid scuba diver - which is very similar to 45 minutes of meditation - and many creative idea come to me underwater :)

Some of my best ideas come when I’m driving and not texting

Driving is definitely thinking time. Also I “load up” the questions or problems to solve before going to sleep. I find my brain “works” while I’m sleeping. I wake up with a new approach or more clarity.
Daniel Schwartz

Anytime you are in a situation with repetitive sound, like the shower, or driving at a constant speed, your mind is free to wander, almost hypnotized. That is when the mind works unimpeded without having to focus. Great things happen in this state.

I have my times . Driving, swimming, shower, 3AM. Used to be more. Most creative is the stream of consciousness as I am actually composing . Like now . But these days I’m saturated . Between politics and being politically correct and trying to curb my responses .... The demise of the Yankees and The Football Giants . My creativity is stifled . The Pittsburgh massacre, the Kavanaugh hearings . It’s over the top . And hard to ignore. Thus the stream of consciousness rules these days . But I’ve got plenty to draw from .

Shower. .Surfing the internet. Walking my dog. Reading anything. Listening to what people are saying. The way two disparate things come together in the same moment - that collision creates a new thought. In other words, ANYTHING, ANY STIMULUS.

I don't call it boredom....I call it quiet time and peaceful

I get a lot of blog ideas while driving. Unfortunately, I forget them before I get the chance to write them down. :)
