We waited all season long. Now we know the 2 teams that will play in the Super Bowl. The 49ers and KC. Some say there was a new franchise this year, The Taylor Swift franchise. It is said that this year Taylor Swift has generated over $300 million for both KC and the NFL just by being present at the games. All the headlines, all the facetime on TV, her fan base watching. Over the years there has also been controversial talk that the NFL is rigged. The refs call the game in favor of the team that is best for the NFL.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to create a “half glass full” occasion. My son and his girlfriend just returned from a (fantastic) trip to Lima. The problem was that their flight was cancelled and so they had to rebook at the last minute. Add to the story – they live in Lynchburg VA.
I have to admit it. I have road rage.
I drive, at least, a half hour every day to and from my office. Often my commute is much longer if I have to drive to court.
If I am driving and another driver does something that I find annoying I start. All it takes is me to be cut off or the driver in front of me to be driving too slowly. I will start yelling and cursing at them.
Recall last week’s blog. I had planned to post some items on the web using my iPad after the presser. It seems the app no longer existed. I dealt with things when I returned to my office. That eve I searched the App Store for the replacement editor but nothing seemed the right tool. It still bothered me so I reached out to my son.
Is it better to be an optimist or a realist in life? Is the glass half full or half empty?
Being an optimist is like wearing rose-colored glasses finding joy in the bleakest situations, transforming obstacles into stepping stones.
On the other side, realists walk with their feet firmly planted on the pragmatic ground, ensuring decisions are well-informed and grounded.
I feel I can be both in the same day...you?
As you may know, this blog is written from far away Key West (an Island under the protection of Uncle Sam) and, to let you in on a secret, it's a little different down here.
They call it the KONK Republic based on a bizarrely unsuccessful attempt to secede from the Union. It was fueled by a populist pervasive passion for non conformity.
Do I belong here? Draw your own conclusions :)
I had been thinking about family and support even before I read the wonderful posts about what Gotham meant to its members. The love and support here has been evident throughout the year. I was reminded of a family by chance that I've been in for more than fifteen years. We've been though illness, life-changing decisions, moves, death, and celebrations. We came together because we were available to meet on Wednesday evenings. We knew nothing about each other.
For me, email is my nemesis. No matter how many I delete, it seems 10 more show up. I have tried unsubscribing from many services, but they always seem to find a back door in. The main problem with the "junk" mail, is that it buries my essential business email. This has ramped up to the point where I ask my clients to not email me, but to call instead. I have tried many avenues to deal with the email conundrum, but all have fallen short so far.
Give me some love, give me your tips and tricks for how you deal with a bursting at the seams email inbox!
