Something unexpected intruded on “my” Friday.
It's nice to walk into a restaurant and have a rapport with the staff.   La Parma on Roslyn Rd, is such a place. A solid southern Italian restaurant where Jerard, the owners son, works and Rollie is the operations guy.    It's our go-to spot after the Sparks program, where the ambiance, the genuine connections, and the authentic southern Italian cuisine make us feel more than customers—they make us feel like family. In the hustle of life, La Parma is a comforting retreat.

I always say I could move there and never come back to NY. Or maybe become a snow bird and at least spend the winters there.
I grew up with an encyclopedia proudly displayed on the shelves in our den.  The World Book – it was olive green with navy blue borders.   When a homework assignment needed some information, we turned right to the encyclopedia.
As many of you know I am an avid science fiction fan. As a fan, I often wonder about the possibility of advanced life outside of our solar system. Perhaps, the better statement is, I hope for the existence of advanced life beyond our solar system and anxiously anticipate the possibility of contact during my lifetime.
Probably not fair to borrow the title of the iconic song by Sam Cooke for the change I currently face. It really only affects me. The solution also evidenced how relationships matter and how pro bono involvements can offer unintended and unexpected benefits. I returned a call Friday from Jim who runs the servers that hosts four websites that really matter to me —
