Last Thursday, I had the honor and privilege of leading the Third annual “Gotham Pizza Crawl,” this time held in Forest Hills, Queens.  One of my favorite aspects of the crawls are that each one is unique, special and different!
It’s been almost five years since I was at a live concert. As a young adult I frequented various venues with my high school friends that lasted a nice amount of time from the early 1980’s to the early 2000’s. I think over the recent years, my friends and I all moved and family life with different interest in music, may have put the brakes on encounters. The pandemic closed the door for a while. Moving down south further made it more difficult.
Guy on left has written 75 novels, 50 Short stories and has been a best selling author for more than 30 years. Guy on the right has written 2 books.   I've been reading L E Modesitt Jr's work since 1997 (and got Sharon into his work in the early 2000s).  What drew me to him, initially, was just the names of the books: The Magic Engineer (how could I not, as a Software Engineer myself, who created digital miracles in my day job...)
I was forcibly unplugged while in Europe last week.   My husband and I were in Lisbon. The converter we were using was clearly defective as my iPhone, my iPad and my husband’s iPad all blew. The iPad was even sparking when we tried to charge it.  Luckily, for us, my husband’s Android phone was running perfectly.
Shelly likes to ride -- a bike that is.  My lovely wife started with one of this bikes you dissemble and assemble which make for easy transport.  I would take her to different parks while I did my work remotely.  Through our friend Brian, she recently upgrade to a regular bike.  It required putting the back seats down until I ordered a removable bike rack for our "Blue Car."  I Installed the rack Friday but left the bike in the car.  Yesterday's plan included a return to Little Bay Park across from Fort Totten.
As the gardner in my house, I've learned a few things.   Digging in the dirt is theraputic I love to trim trees and bushes but don't like cleaning up Weeds are the freeloaders of the garden world It's amazing how resilient plants are, especially weeds Gardening can be really tiring and tough on the back It feels like I'm contributing to a greener planet (pun intended)   Do you dig in the dirt? Give it a try, you might like it ;)
When I was a boy, Mickey Mantle was my favorite baseball player.  Truth be told he was my boyhood Idol and he wore #7 (as a Rookie he wore #6, but that's a story for another blog).
A few weeks ago, at a joint meeting of the Bandit and Health and Longevity groups, I reported on upcoming events and June 4th cocktails at the TWA Hotel at Kennedy Airport.
