Today is New Years Day and, annually, we make New Year's resolutions. The statistics on resolution success are a bit discouraging. Twenty-three percent of people quit their resolutions by the end of the first week and forty-three percent quit by the end of the first month. In fact, the second Friday in January has been coined as “Quiter’s Day,” reflecting the day that most people break their resolutions.
Going into New Year’s Eve, I prepare my annual year-end commentary recounting my top ten shows for the past 12 months.

The other day, I looked out our bedroom window and was shocked to see our neighbor’s backyard.
I am curious, because usually I will keep up my Christmas decorations until around January 1, but this particular year, I am sooooo over the holidays that I will be taking it down like, NOW!
Maybe this year was too hectic and I did not really get to enjoy the season so I want the vestiges of it gone, maybe I need to clear my space for the new year to start with a fresh palate. Maybe I am just being a scrooge!
What is your typical deconstruct date?
It always feels a little surreal to be writing my last blog for the year. For some reason, this year seems a little extra surreal.
In my world, 2023 has seen so much change and many happy occasions with lots to celebrate. I look back and smile.
While I do not celebrate Christmas, it is difficult not to get caught up in the season to spread joy and good wishes.
