So, we got through 2023 with all it’s ups and downs. The economy seems to be on track now. Gas prices are low, but the world still has its issues (sadly). My thoughts early on this year are of what can one do to make this year a better one.
When my children were in nursery school, they were taught a special trick when the forecast was snow.  If you slept with a spoon under your pillow, you were sure to wake up with the streets blanketed in a sea of white – which surely signaled either a delayed start to the school day or even one of those prized snow days.
I need podcast suggestions.   Since the pandemic, I have undertaken the additional responsibility of doing my own billing.  My husband works on Saturday mornings so I use that time alone to input and prepare my billing.
The Football playoffs started yesterday. I barely paid attention with my team out of it. I did notice that my brother’s team did not prevail. I am in a pool with my friend Eric that started with the season and was made hard when our fave team lost its starting QB a few plays in on day one. It often put us in the hate position of picking our team’s opponent even while we rooted for our team to prevail.
My Mom is 93 with dementia living in an assisted living center. My Sister and I visit together on Saturdays. About three months ago I started bringing her a Boston Cream donut. She ate it with such vigor I started bringing two. The first time I brought two she ate both but the second and third time, no-go.
Do you Zoom? Could you function without Zoom?   Did Zoom even exist pre pandemic?  I know not, but what I do know is that it saved many of us during the pandemic. Sanity and otherwise.   No doubt, we could not have stayed connected without it, but that was then and this is now.
U-Hauls, national van lines, flat rate, even a "man with a van" – I’ve used them all for my over 20 moves across 3 states and the District of Columbia. The “to do “ lists have been pretty much the same, although each move had its unique challenges.
