No Seder at home this Passover
I'm not really a doughut guy. I don't take trips to Dunkin' or buy Crispy Cremes but a local coffee shop called COCO Confections and Coffee (the owner Terry is in the picture) near my house in Sea Cliff has some very special treats on the weekend.
I first learned of the single sailor, around the World Golden Globe (sail boat) Race when my friend Guy deBoer entered it.   The race started last year on the west coast of France on September 4th and we were there in beautiful Les Sables to see Guy off on his unique adventure.   Not only is the race solo, but it takes place in a 1968 (year of initial race) time warp, ie, no post 1968 technology is allowed.  No GPS, for example.
I gazed at the plant several times. A small myrtle topiary. Perfectly shaped with its foliage in a ball atop its stem.I was warned. A hard plant to keep alive. On the other hand, water as needed and keep it by a window and it should be fine.
.... Happens - even when you least expect it  ....Don't let it pass you by .... Is what you make of it. ....is just a bowl of cherries ...goes on. These are the things I remind myself when I am at a low point. What do you speak to your inner self to heal or push yourself forward?
It has been very busy in my world and that is not a complaint.   But, I did observe recently that I have not had a full on day off in a long time.  Truth be told, I can’t really remember when that last day was.   And so, here comes the daydreaming.  These days, what would that day look like?
When was the last time you indulged yourself?    While in Italy recently (which itself is an indulgence) my husband and I grew accustomed to drinking cappuccinos at night. As Italians generally do, we would sit together, relax, savor our cappuccinos (mine was always decaf), and just talk about our day.
First off thank you to substitute bloggers Mike Steger and Reliable Ray Walcott who "covered" for me while my family and I enjoyed our time traveling in Israel and for one day in Jordan.  A special THANK YOU to Gotham's travel agent, Laura Avital, who arranged and organized -- perhaps "curated" betters represents things -- special experiences throughout the State of Israel and Petra in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
