Back in the day, I was a member of the fabled New York City Friars Club Executive Committee and my father was a Friar before me. As such, I bore witness to countless Friars Roasts for over 50 years. Many times sitting on the Dais.

Those Roasts were fueled by every hot comic of the day. From George Jessel, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, Billy Crystal, Joan Rivers, Richard Belzer, Martin Short, Richard Pryor, Freddie Roman, Stuie Stone, Gilbert Gottfried, Don Rickles, Alan King, Buddy Hackett, Johnny Carson, Norm Crosby, Redd Foxx, Chris Rock, Jeffrey Ross, Fat Jack Leonard, Milton Berle and many more...

With that as back ground, I feel qualified to declare that last week, at The Comedy Club in Key West, I bore witness to the singular best "Stand Up" performance in my life!

It was delivered by 34 year old Australian Amos Gill. Not so much delivered, as transported directly to where ever there is a happy zone in the brain which harbors laughter. Not just laughter, but out of control "crying"!

Amos does impressions, eg, Trump, as a throw away to his right on, genius, always smiling, machine gun patter. He is so smart and quick, as he measures the room with his no holds barred delivery, building on our laughter as he takes us higher. No subject is off limits as he dances in and out of the wild side.

Maybe it was just a good night and Amos was in "The Zone" when I bore witness, but I don't think so. What I do think is that I was most fortunate to be entertained, up close and personal, by a comic genius.

Check him out on Google or You Tube. Better still, seek him out and see him in person. In my opinion, he is the next King of Comedy :)

Hard to find witty and good comedy in this woke environment.

The first thing we so in Vegas is see a comedy show every time.
