The Best Burger

We are big burger fans in my house. I remember years ago when my son was in middle school we even started a Long Island mother-son lunch tour to find the best hamburger on Long Island.

Funny thing is that we kept coming back to the same place – our local diner.

I know what I am about to say may be controversial in the era of the every other day new burger restaurant – but our family has concluded that the best diner on Long Island comes from the diner.

They just know how to do something right.

Where do you find your favorite burger?

As I am sure you know, I Cannot answer this question. The best veggie burger I have recently had was in the Finger Lake, homemade with kimchi and homemade cheese. Amazing

My grill. Bubba burger with Vidalia onions mixed in, grilled to perfection and served with Sautéed (in olive oil) Vidalia onions and cut up fresh fresh garlic cloves with Tamari sauce mixed in at end of that process.

Great Burgers, they even have Beyond Burgers---I don't eat meat but while I have my Beyond Burgers with great toppings my friends love the actual burgers (or at least we did pre pandemic, cannot wait to return)

Five guys is great for “fast food” burgers. And then it doesn’t hurt that they fill the bag with their amazing fries ......

I too like a good diner burger. The one on Sunrise in Rockville Centre does a nice job. I also like Shack Shack and 5 Guys.
But when in Brooklyn, my favorite is Rollin Roaster in Sheepshead Bay. They are known for Roast Beef, but they cook each burger to order (takes 10 minutes to cook) and they are flame broiled to perfection (Rare, med or well done) with a freshly made, real, unpreserved roll. Get the grilled onions and dip the bun in gravy, worth the mess and wait.

All I know is that Diners never seems to disappoint when it comes to the basics.
