The teams I root for have not enjoyed regular and sustained success over the season they play.  The Rangers did surprise in hockey and make a run of sorts but when it comes to football, hoops and baseball not much in the way of success, and you find yourself more rooting for individual players to develop.  So when over the last two weeks through last night I watched my baseball team succeed against Friday's blogger's team and take 3 of four going into this afternoon game against the 2021 World Series champs, I feel something special.
I'm in Canada this week staying at a friends house on Lake Erie next to the Buffalo Canoe Club (image is the boathouse) that is populated with Buffalonians who founded it in 1886. It's a very different vibe up here. Laid back, no one's in a rush, with funny accents...eh?

Has anyone else noticed that “of course” has become the new form of “you’re welcome”?  Thank you is now often met with “of course”.   Thank you for picking up dinner — “of course!”.    Thanks so much for helping me with that project — “of course!”.  Thanks so much for making me laugh — “of course!”.  You get the drift.
I am currently reading a book with an interesting premise, “The Measure.” In “The Measure” everyone on the planet, who are age 22 and older, receives a box which contains a string. The length of the string directly correlates to the age at which the recipient will die.   Once the accuracy of the strings are confirmed the characters go through the expected quandary; should they look? As the reader you cannot help but experience this quandary with them.
