Very Important Office Desk Things

I proudly display all sorts of objects on my desk that my kids made when they were little.  I have a ceramic pencil holder that Max made and a small little ceramic bowl that I use to hold paper clips.

From Hilary I have a great paperweight with my initials on it in squiggly wormy letters.  I have used it for many years.

Josh made me something.  It's a, a.....it's a.....I am not really sure what it is. It is also ceramic and can hold things. That is it in the picture up there. It is to put things in. What, I could never be sure. I also use it for paper clips. I am not sure what else would go inside. But I have it, and have had it on my desk for many years, and there it will stay. Luckily Josh did not chose pottery as a profession.

I also have a wooden paper holder that my son Max made for me when he was little.  On the front is an engraving: "To Dad  From Max".  Sometime after he gave it to me he got mad at me. So he took a red magic marker and scribbled out the word "Dad" and in its place wrote "Mom".  But that was then. I still have it in my office.

This is the perfect blog to perk me up on an early Sunday morning as I watch the sun rise,

Those are treasures that are priceless, especially the one with the scratched out "Dad."
Your children are lucky to have a Dad like you.

The =only thing hanging on my desk from the kids is a recent Dad's Day gift they bought from Flo -- a cube speaker. There are many pics around my office of the kids from throughout their lives, some posed, some action, and a tie rack in my closet.

On my desk are a picture of my husband and I on our wedding day, a small glass apple that an intern gave me years ago because she said I taught her so much and a sign that says "I have flying monkeys, and I'm not afraid of using them."

My favorite desk piece is the glass sphere that I made at Urban Glass that collapsed into a weird shape in the middle of its own creation. I have thought of it as a perfect representation of the craziness of my work on occasion - - I really like it.

I have one of those squares with small ceramic tiles grouted onto it. I'm not certain which daughter made it (Don't tell them I said that) but I actually use it every day to put my coffee cup on.

I kept a set of wooden candle sticks my older daughter made, a picture frame my younger daughter made, and I keep a leather necklace in my car hanging from my mirror where I keep my sunglasses perched that was made when my older daughter was a CIT at a camp.

Very touching, Don! Those are indeed priceless as Cayce commented! I have photos of my family on my desk. I also keep my desk festive with whatever holiday is approaching. Just with one or two items. Keeps me in the spirit.
