Exploring a New City

Exploring a New City

Rona’s vacation theme started me thinking about how I plan to visit a new city.

Recently, we had a few days in a city we knew some but hadn’t spent any real time exploring.  So, I dug into the internet, researching sites to see, restaurants to explore, maybe even a little shopping.

My daughter, knowing her mother, encouraged me to slow down.  As she has started to say to me – “mom, take one thing off the list”.  I admit, I have a tendency to want to schedule a packed day to take advantage of a new city.  Yet I followed my daughter’s wisdom, and here was the result.

We spent a weekend eating around town letting the day unfold -- without planning.  We had time to sit together, catch up, tell stories, and laugh a lot.  Overall, an A+ weekend away.

Every city/town is great to explore at least once.

It's a rush visiting a new city! I suggest using the Citymapper (green icon) app to navigates cities (like Dublin) smoothly!

Sometimes the best vacation days are just letting the day happen.
