For some the pitch about joining Gotham involves business opportunities.  Members seek to sell their services or wares.  That may be a primary reason to network.  But for this member who complains not at all about business opportunities here, I submit Gotham offers much more.

As many know here I chair the board of a senior agency.  Two fellow board members are from Gotham.  Indeed two weeks back, Renee Richter, Jeff Greenwood and this correspondent started our day together at Gotham Queens and completed the day at the board of directors meeting of Services Now for Adult Persons; at that same meeting, we elected another Gotham member, Debbie Heiser, to our board

One of the things we discussed at the board meeting was our effort the board oversees in seeking to complete a new building in Floral Park for our Older Adult Center currently on the Creedmoor Campus in Queens Village and for our agency’s programmatic operations.

As last week began I completed documents for the latest state grant we secured through State Senator Leroy Comrie.  Midweek I completed the application for City Capital funding.  In both cases I needed to submit project budgets updated as of last Monday which our general contractor prepared with our architect.

Gotham “supplied” our architect, Joshua Zinder Architecture & Design (JZA & D).

I will also be using those revised budgets to update existing approved state (Senator Toby Stavisky) and federal (Congressman Tom Suozzi) grants so those projects can begin.

Gotham “assistance” does not end there.  Commercial Real Estate Broker Scott Bloom is negotiating the lease extension for our SNAP-Brookville Older Adult Center in Rosedale (More on that when the deal is done.). At our late Friday morning breakfast following his visit to the center, Scott was please to learn our attorney is Steve Glassberg.

As one can see, Gotham offers not just a place to secure business opportunities but provides a one-stop source of quality professional resources.

Am sure Josh, Steven and others will agree:

One of the great pleasures of working with Gothamites goes beyond the satisfaction of saving a tenant many thousands of dollars…it is being Appreciated for what we do.

Thank You Corey Bearak

All wonderful news Corey; congratulations on the grants and plans to grow SNAP in Floral Park. You failed to give yourself credit for all you do to help so many. To this day I'm extremely grateful to Corey for connecting me to service providers at SNAP, in 2015; my parents first got meals on wheels and later received Free Home Health Aides through Community Medicaid. All this cost them/me zero $$$ thanks to the connections at SNAP! So thank you Gotham for the personal connections that keep on giving

This is a classic example of Gotham at work like the smooth running engine it is with a master networker like yourself at the helm. Bravo!
