We can learn from the cold

The cold is oddly reflective. It slows us down, forces us indoors, and creates just the right conditions for introspection and reflection. Sure, we’re bundled up like burritos with hot tea in hand, but aren’t those moments special? The world feels smaller, quieter, and more intimate. It’s a time for reading by the fire, organizing that area in your house that's been bothering you, or baking anything.

The cold is also a reminder of how it's a master of surprises. You step outside in what you thought was a warm jacket, only to feel a gust of wind slice through you like a dagger. You might even be reading this while wearing socks, two sweaters, and maybe—a scarf! Stay warm :)

I love the imagery you imparted. I am not a fan of cold, but I do like bundling up once in awhile and have that cup of tea. We still have not used our fireplace since moving down south, but I have wood and its ready to go should it get cold enough.

Very funny as I just put a hoodie on! That being said, I do enjoy the seasons change. I feel like Maryland or Virginia would be the furthest south I would move to still have seasons changes. What are your thoughts?

So true. No Snow needed. Calendar in hand for some planning of February, May and October trips.

Wife advising is perfect time for me to declutter the ‘sports closet’.

I like the change of seasons, too. The cold can be rough for doing outside walks on windy days! I noticed that your Buffalo college team is playing a bowl game in the Bahamas! Great idea for the team and their fans!

I am commenting just because his post is (so far) male-response dominated.
Here's a woman's view of the cold: Live with it, fellas!
Whether you let the Weather dominate you is your choice.

Literally reading this while wearing thick socks, multiple layers of pants and sweaters! This is a realization I've come to accept over the last couple of years. I've pondered why as a kid I could run around in the cold with out it effecting me. But I like this reflection on how it truly stops us from running around like a kid to focus on being in close quarters and taking time for ourselves. We all want to run as fast as we can and be everywhere at once. The Winter time, like animals, is time for hibernation!
