Disconnected
Recently, as a consequence of an orgy of photographing and Facebook posting, my iPhone battery ran out of power and I was DISCONNECTED!
For better or worse, I instantly realized I'd become addicted and dependent upon that small (yet so big) window into the world.
To say I suffered withdrawal is an understatement. There was real anxiety too. It just so happened that we were out East and the day before we have made a sizable purchase and within seconds of the credit card sliding my phone buzzed with a text from the credit card card company questioning verification of such a purchase in an unusual location, saying if I didn't verify the card would be deactivated.
So once I was out of power I feared my buying power would be compromised too.
What's more, numerous photo and Facebook opportunities were lost. Lets just say I felt and was out of touch.
This experience is a manifestation of our virtual reality and a slice of what we have become.
What next?

Find the right credit card to approve your odd purchases. He had dropped a couple for misbehaving, such as declining purchases, because they deemed to be unusual. You can also alert your credit card company before traveling and have a not to approve purchases in a different state or country.
If I had been in your "shoes" I would have said "finally! freedom"

We have fairly similar rules, but the two older kids are away at college, and so I can't monitor them.
I think it's a "generational thang"...

You can just get a Mophie battery that fits around your phone. It is very healthy for me to have regular periods of disconnection. I love the idea of everyone stacking their phones up at the beginning of a restaurant meal and whomever picks up their phone first, pays the check.

Only so many times you can read the sky walk magazine. No TV's...I never felt so ill prepared before.
Sitting between two complete sleeping strangers...odd. Finally paid attention to the In Case Of Emergency speech--
I just don't like it, it did not give me an opportunity to "recharge my batteries"
Will never happen again.
Notice how there are charging stations everywhere in the airport...I LOVE IT!!
