New Year's Splurges

It's New Year's Eve!

For me, New Year’s Eve is about spending time with my family and close friends. It’s also about drinking champagne and eating my favorite foods, as I know on January 2, I'll be starting my annual diet.  I love champagne but for some reason I will hesitate to drink it unless it’s a special occasion. Even when sparkling wine is the same price on a menu as non-sparkling wine, I generally will not order the sparkling wine.

So on New Year’s Eve I splurge and have as much champagne as I want (admission-I can only handle two glasses but that’s a blog for another day). What’s your New Year’s Eve splurge?

Happy New Year Gotham!

I find that I'm getting slightly less inclined to "splurge" with each passing year. Jaded? Maturity? Been there, done that? Other?

No splurge but it used to be going to the town bonfire. It was quite nice, however two years ago the town discontinued it. :(

As I get older, my New Years Eves get quieter. To tell the truth though, I kind of like it this way :). But, since we share the same taste in wine, I have to admit that I also enjoy the sparkling variety! Happy New Year!!

For me more about about being in the moment with Shelly and some of our closer friends (If only I can find a way -- short of hosting the darn thing -- to get all of my close friends who belong to different circles, some overlapping, into the same place; it is one of the rare times, my preferences in food, drink and music matter a bit less). Happy New Year and Best wishes to all.

I'm not the sparkingling blubbly type when it comes to drinking. I like them smooth, bold, and lightly sweet. Happy New Year.
