Sounds of Nature

Categories
Lifestyle

Sometimes my eyes open in the predawn hour and I sample the silence and as I lay there I hear a chirp and then an answer and the silence is sweetly broken.

Soon our dog Charcoal stirs as if on signal and the first cracks of dawn emerge and the sweet chirping increases.

It is an ordinary, but highly over looked (or slept through), sensual experience which is timeless and perfect-the simple sounds of Nature!

That is what Joel Chadabe' Ear to Earth group chronicles. Sounds of natural morning....

So interesting, as I lay in bed and you’re only morning hours this morning I was thinking the same thing

At this time of year, we leave the windows open at night. So what you describe is what typically happens at 5 AM - 5:30 AM every day. Only after the birds, it is our two cats that start poking at us for breakfast. This is a bit too early for us, so for now, I try to remember to close the windows in the middle of the night.

I do get awaken by the sounds of nature on the weekends. Unfortunately, the nature sounds quickly turns to power equipment as a neighbors gardener is illegally moving before the appropriate village time. Annoying end to what nature intended.

It is beautiful. And, as Paul said, the kitties love it too. Lol. I especially love it upstate, hearing the brooks gurgling over the rocks when the streams are full after rain. It is a beautiful way to wake up. :)

What a beautiful time of day! I wonder if Charcoal stirs because you have. .. she is so in tune with you.

She gets up in middle of night and wants to go out, but I wait her out...

I love waking up before the alarm. And then knowing I can roll over and go back to sleep. . .

We are in tune as always . This is part of my “Afterlife “ essay that I promised later . Mornings . A hand grabs my chin . It’s 5 AM . It’s daytime grandpa ! The roosters have been crowing since 2 AM . The goats are galloping around the corral . Squirrels are chattering and scrub jays are quarreling . The dogs are listening but silent . Priceless and cherished .
