Every year a top cultural highlight, for me, is the Kennedy Center Honorees Special. It is always televised  between Christmas and New Years on CBS. This year’s telecast is tonight at 8 pm, Wednesday, December 28.   A group of 5 artists are presented Medals, in a night of celebration, for their distinguished careers. This year the list is an eclectic one. Performers in rock: U2, classical music: Donna Leon, movies: George Clooney, soul music: Gladys Knight, and contemporary Christian music: Amy Grant.

In advance of the holiday season (as I did a few week's back) I devote an annual blog to a "Happy Holidays in Song" playlist; this year I often included in many emails I sent of late a p.s.
