Forget about gold bars and rare diamonds, there’s a new luxury item in town, and you can brew it in your kitchen. Panama’s Geisha coffee just sold for a record $13,705 a pound, which means for the price of one cup, you could probably buy a decent used car. Described as the “champagne of coffee,” it’s floral, fruity, and worth more than my entire kitchen. At this rate, if by the smallest of chances I ever get my hands on a bag, I’m not going to brew it… I’m insuring it.
Last Friday night was one for the ages.Top props for my Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity brother Jason Greenberg (Phoenix Adjusters) for taking me to see, inter alia, our fraternity brother Robert Zimmerman perform at The Outlaw Music Festival at the beautiful Jones Beach Theater. With one exception, it was a perfectly entertaining night as we partied with my son Alex, his wife Jessica and others at Jason's special VIP stage side table.
We have a marble solitaire game on our coffee table. It’s a big handsome wooden board with beautiful glass oversized marbles. It has always been an attraction to visitors, especially our grand children.
If you saw the title and were looking for a political blog, this is not that.

I remember how we used to remark that some brand names became so iconic, they replaced the actual product name—like calling petroleum jelly "Vaseline" or tissues "Kleenex” or bandages became “Band-Aids.” These brands blurred the line between the product and its identity.
I know my recovery -- discussed last week -- involves a process: physical therapy, exercise, rest, and not taking part in every activity I might covet.  There remains events I may not get cleared to attend.  I made clear to all that recovery must not get hindered by other things; this includes my work and various involvements.
Is your glass half full… or half empty?Honestly, some days it feels like it depends on how much sleep I got. Here’s the truth: you don’t have to pick a side. You can be the dreamer and the doer. The hopeful heart and the practical planner. The one who believes in miracles, but also budgets for groceries. I switch between both depending on the day, the moment… or the mood. You?
