The Luxury of Cold Air
It is hot outside, really hot. And I am a fan of cold, really cold. Artificially cooled air that is, not the winter blustery kind.
I am a happy woman with air conditioning set in the low 60s at night. Better for sleeping but I’m pretty sure my husband does not agree with me, which I glean from the pile of fuzzy sleeping socks he has collected over the years.
These days I am appreciating the luxury and privilege of my central air. As an extraordinary heat wave takes over around the globe, I read an article recently that in England, air conditioning is uncommon. Only a small percentage of the population has air conditioning in their homes. According to a recent NY Times article, less than 5%.
Right about now, I wish I could share.

As I pack to go visit my kids in GA in a few weeks, I will make sure to have a sweater and socks. My DIL will have comforters set out for me to use at night. She is like you, Nancy. She loves the cold.
