When Dreams Come True

Categories

The moral in the story is that dreams can come true.

I am speechless -- not a state I find myself in often. As parents, we watch our children work towards their goals. Sometimes they struggle and fall down. We are proud of their accomplishments but also of the path they took to their achievements.

It hasn’t always been an easy or even a straight path. But it has always been a path propelled by passion and an intense sense of direction.

Yesterday that passion, intensity and achievement was recognized. As the Bulldogs fight song started to play welcoming Jaclyn to the Yale class of 2018, she screamed and I lost my words (which I must say have yet to really come back).

Dreams really can come true.

Congrats!
My mom wanted Jonathan to choose Yale for grad school; the acceptance was good enough in my book; he chose NYU.
Just great that Jaclyn can follow her dreams!

Fantastic, Nancy! It's Jaclyn's moment, but you go kvell all you want, once your speech returns. Next time I see you (or in an email), please explain how the fight song was played in conjunction with the admissions news.

Knowing Jackee, this is totally well-deserved. Knowing her parents, they are out-of-their-minds proud, as they should be. Big congrats to all!

I would like to reply to each and every one of you but then I would be accused of padding comments. So, instead a group thank you to all of you and the many others who sent notes today to share in our excitement. How wonderful to be able to share this with my gotham family. And Caryn Lilling, thanks for the stats! Still stunned!!
