Drink of Choice
Last week was one of “those” weeks. You know the type, when you breathe a sigh of relief when you leave the office on Friday night. And, it was Friday night when I left. A judge felt the need to “punish” my client and her soon to be ex-spouse for not settling their case. The punishment? Scheduling a court conference for 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. Although, I’m still unclear whom the judge thought she was punishing, the attorneys or the litigants.
So it was with happy anticipation that my husband and I went to meet longtime friends for dinner Saturday night, whom we have not seen in the “real world’ since before the pandemic. On the way to the restaurant, I began thinking about the glass of Pinot Grigio I would be ordering when we arrived at the restaurant.
After hugs and greeting the longtime friends in the “real world,” my glass of Pinot Grigio was in front of me. I was able to relax, smile, enjoy my time with my friends, and savor a good glass of wine. I again sighed that same sigh of relief I felt when I left the office on Friday night. It was a great, relaxing night.
I generally prefer wine over mixed drinks. What’s you “go to” drink of choice?

I enjoy a variety of fine and table wines, depending of the occasion and the food.

Otherwise: Manhattan for the love of the place! Usually substitute a slice of orange for the Luxardo Cherry. (Never, ever "Mariscino")
Though my mother used to make a killer Negroni. She was well-known for this in San Francisco's Certain Circles.
