The Hand Shake
I recall my last pre pandemic hand shake with my Mate Andrew Ambrose.
Since then I have religiously refrained from doing something which comes so naturally and can mean so much. I even wondered if the ritual would go out of style and be relegated to the rubbish heap of history.
Then we got vaccinated and the thought cropped up. Would I shake hands and if so with whom?
Then Charcoal had a medical emergency and the Veterinarian was closed for the weekend and I texted the emergency number and Dr. Thomas Householder responded and soon we were with him in his closed office and he performed an extensive examination and gave Charcoal an injection, an IV and pills.
He transformed Joanne and me from very worried parents to very very grateful customers.
In the emotion of the moment I reached out, grasped his hand and expressed my gratitude as best I could!

Handshakes, hugs....I believe all will be back. We may wash our hands more, and use more sanitizer. And maybe not share drinks or bites of food as much! (Love and speedy recovery to charcoal.)

Glad all well with Charcoal and his happy parents!

With that being said, I do believe that handshakes will be a changed tradition in view of the pandemic. I believe it will change for things such as an elbow bump.
