After reading, listening, and watching the impeachment proceedings, I woke up today with this song floating around in my head from the Temptations...(forgive the editing:)

Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the (preacher)
And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the (teacher)
Segregation, determination, demonstration, inssurection,
aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation

Ball of confusion. Oh yeah, that's what the world is today.

Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul
Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon
Politicians say more taxes will solve everything
And the band played on

So, round and around and around we go
Where the world's headed, nobody knows

Oh, Great Googa Mooga, can't you hear me talking to you?
Just a ball of confusion
Oh yeah, that's what the world is today

This was recorded in April of 1970. Over 50 years ago...

Human condition. The pendulum swings. Trying to hop off and get a little perspective rather than riding it. Our messy, beautiful country and the protections afforded under our constitution are still the best bet around today. Our founding fathers knew that the Constitution was the cauldron and we are all the soup bubbling away. Hopefully we won’t crack the pot.... :)
Great song...

Great song. Very Corey of you. I don’t find any of it confusing. The difficult part for me is how clear it all is and how to digest and improve where we are. It is all too clear and that is a big expansive uncomfortable gift.
Corey Bearak

I added that song to my State of the Union playlist (since renamed) that I created for the previous admin.

It includes 3 versions of a really pertinent Derek & the Dominos tune and one by Manassas.

I keep thinking of The Circle Game-Joni Mitchell. I think the past few years shows the immense wisdom of the framers of the Constitution. It has really so stood the test of time.

Mitch, you cued up a great song with the Message of the day, week, month, etc Confusion reigns.
Temptations not only did great romance, dance, and fun music-they hit the political spot too.
When Broadway opens-try to see their show. Has all the great elements- Great songs, dancing, joy, and heartbreak.
Shelley Simpson

We have an amazing system in place ... implementation has always been the challenge. Let's hope that some day we are able to meet the challenge and see aspiration meet reality. Great blog!

Are any of you even slightly embarrassed by the Democratic Party ? If not ..... You should be........ what a waste of time and money. Who’s next on their list while they fiddle and Rome burns ? Where’s Hunter ? What a joke .

Thanks Mitch. The only thing that has ever delivered humanity from confusion and chaos is the rule of law. Confusion is inevitable in every human life and culture. Entropy is a law of physics. It's in the ethers. "Though it may not be clear in the moment, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should." Max Erman Meatime, "Be still". Does wonders for being at peace amid the chaos as long as one is not in a fox hole.

Agreed, I wonder how many saw the "trial" yesterday, when the videos made clear that the House managers showed fake screenshots and stopped other videos so as to falsify information, going all the way back to Charlottesville! On top of that, you cannot impeach a President not in office.

Actually they did. The House impeached him while still in office

By not transmitting their article until after he was out of office, the impeachment died, or should have if the members read the US Constitution: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Removed from office means you have to be in office. Additionally, there were no high crimes or misdemeanors and the tampering of evidence makes the evidence worthless - the entire case was a political ploy and worthless. Did you see Friday's presentation? By not mentioning it, it seems you did not.
