Another Saturday Night

Our Saturday night activities have actually fallen into a nice routine.

It is the only night that we order in. Other than that, we are cooking. (I should say, my kids are cooking. I am eating). I can tell what kind of week it has been based on which day we start talking about where to order for Saturday night's dinner.

After we eat, my daughter and I bake. She was recently gifted a terrific gluten free cookbook and we have been baking our way from beginning to end. This week was biscotti. Outstanding. I am the pastry sous.

And then after baking, we sit together and watch something. Honestly, by the time we sit down its hard to pick a movie. Not a one of us will be awake for that long. So, we have taken to mini-series.

We just started Tiger King. A super weird story unfolding and I’m not sure I’m going to last through the final episode.

Anyone else watching this crazy show? Or, have an alternative suggestion? I could be convinced to move on.

Just another Saturday night.

We started Ozark. I'm hooked. Phil not so much yet. He also convinced me to watch Free Solo (the movie where the guy climbs the mountain without a rope). It was Phil's choice but I have to say it was captivating. We also taped Bad Education on HBO. Looking forward to that one.

Saturday night is our order in night too! Stick with Tiger King. I thought the same thing at first but it just gets weirder and weirder to the point you want to see what happens. You should try Unorthodox as well as Shtisel. Also Grace and Frankie. I just finished binging Schitt's Creek. I have a list of others to watch and will let you know how they are :)

These family routines are truly lovely, I love hearing about them! Tiger King is not something we are considering---truly sounds like something I would find horrible.
Anne with an E is something we watch and then come back to. Ozark, Outlander. If you haven't watched Schitt's Creek it is wonderful. I am actually stuck on british mystery series but am the only one in my family that is so tend to watch those after we have all gone to bed.

I can't recommend any series as I watch so little theses days. I am patiently waiting when live sports is back in action. That has always been my look forward to weekend event. Baseball, Football and Hockey are my sports of choice. This would have been Hockey Play offs and the beginning of baseball, a normally great time in sports.

We just finished season 1 of Fauda (riot) on Netflix. It is intense.
Below a John Fogerty's Sat. eve song (version from a concert I attended at the Beacon)

Sounds nice... fun cooking with the kids. We are watching Billions. Finished Madmen, Westworld, Better Call Saul (Breaking Bad prequel), all great. And yes. Tiger King. Crazy. Lol.

Money Heist is my all-time favorite. It's from Spain and filled with characters I love. I reluctantly stuck with Tiger King, but have very little patience for stupid people. I saw Unorthodox and Shtisel, and learned a lot from both. I am now immersed in Spiral, an older police procedural from France. I love mysteries that take place in other countries which enrich my visits to them. Norway puts out great mystery video series as does Iceland. MHz has mostly foreign movies and video series, but so do Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. Passport, part of PBS offers drama, various musical events, current and past Masterpiece Theater programs, Nature, and so on. I can't believe I have seen so many. My husband is a writer (and lives at the computer) and the only one so far he has joined me for was Money Heist. He shops and cooks, so Saturday night is another great meal, as is every night's. We never order in, he has diabetes and I am gluten intolerant. It's not worth the risk. Before quarantine, I never watched the programs I have been hearing about for years, so this is a new interest of mine.

Sounds like the same story for us. I started talking about take-out on our Friday night Happy Hour and that was for THIS WEEK! LOL.

Yes, that Tiger King show is VERY weird and it started making me feel strange watching it. Almost disturbed in some way. Lots of my childhood friends are talking about it on Facebook and I just don't get it. Most of those childhood friends, were always the ones goofing around--so I think they watch it because it gives them material to goof on.
