In Search of a Favorite French Fry

The title of my blog is incorrect because I have found my favorite French fry and believe me, I’ve searched.

I’m partial to a good French fry and in the end, it’s all about fast food. Yes, I know fast food is the devil and responsible for all bad health things anyone could imagine. But let’s just put that aside for one moment.

How many of you out there will agree with me that McDonald’s wins this award? To me, there is no comparison. Burger King, Wendy’s, even Nathan’s can’t compare (although Nathan’s does come in a close second in a different way). The McDonald’s French fry has just the right combination of delicate crunch and salt.

Anyone want to join me at McDonalds?

Best ff was at the Palisades amusement park. Second best which is now first since Pallisades is no more is Nathan’s Coney Island

Fries come in so many shapes and sizes so picking one as best is difficult. Love the soft crinkle style of Nathan's. For thinner more traditional ones, I do like McDonalds. Steak and Shake down south has an interesting ultra thin fry that magically gets the crispy outside yet soft in middle texture just right. The rest of the food there is just average, except their very good shakes. Finally, for you wide disk style types, you have to love Rollln Roaster in Sheepshead Bay. Add the soft, gooey melted cheese topping if you want a real experience. Great burgers and roast beef sandwiches too.

The french fry connoisseur in our family is my husband. He prefers fresh cut steak fries to any other. Fresh cut is important; he doesn't like frozen. However! He does like Nathan's fries. He rarely get those as he only eats Nathan's if/when we stop on road trips.

I’ll defer to Victoria on this. French fries are without question her favorite food. For me, there is no question that Five Guys has the best french fries in the world.

It’s true. I cannot lie! French fries are my very favorite food of all time. At one point Yankee Stadium had seven kinds of french fries! Curly fries, waffle fries, Nathan‘s type crinkle fries, shoestring fries, and more!.....guess I’m Bubba-Gump fries! Five Guys are truly great. And Nathan’s. Sigh. ;)
