BINGO!!!!
About a week or so ago, a teenage prank in a small town in Kentucky led to headline news. The way the story goes, a teenager and his friends were passing by the local bingo hall and one dared the other to go inside and yell “Bingo”. With the line in the sand drawn, the dare was accepted and off he went inside the hall crowded with avid bingo players in mid game. “Bingo!!” he exclaimed apparently without much thought as to what might happen next.
Having disrupted the committed players, the loud “bingo” might as well have been “fire” in a crowded movie theater. The arrest came quickly and the teenager was carted off to the police precinct.
While the teen served no time, and was sentenced to a prohibition against uttering the word “bingo”, I still ask if too much was made of this situation. Granted, I am not a bingo player and I might feel differently if I played, but it all seems like too much attention to a high school prank.
What do you think?

When I was young, kids did pranks we thought were hilarious. We made phoney phone calls, sent pizza and chinese food to neighbors, told people they won contests if they sang the song to the ivory soap commercial and we rang bells and ran away. We did stupid things like that because we WERE kids. It was a time when being a kid was not a crime.
