After reading this you might think twice about badgers.   Experts believe that a badger foraging for food unearthed an ‘exceptional’ treasure trove of over 200 Roman coins.   The ancient coins were found next to a burrow, with some even inside it. Although the badger itself has not been seen, it is thought the most likely explanation is that it discovered the haul while hungry and looking for food.  

My friend’s daughter Allison calls me “Uncle Fred” and she’s in her last year of Girl Scouts and she’s got it in her head that she wants to go out in a flourish and what better way than to set the record for Girl Scout Cookie sales!   Being a good “Uncle”, I’m all in and, of course, gave her an order, but then last Friday her dad was on our weekly 5:00 Happy Hour Zoom and I had the inspiration to ask him to put her on screen so I could promote her quest.    

The drop-down was to the effect that firms have given up on predicting when employees would return to their offices. I didn’t read the full article. As often happens, the drop-down is sufficient to lead to questions.Are you back in the office? If not, are you going back in the near future?

As a Culture Vulture-The Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy Award Shows have all been non-miss events for me.  The ratings for all these shows have been trending downwards.   The Oscar and Grammy awards will be postponed due to Covid worries.  And, this week the Golden Globe Awards were doled out without being televised.  NBC pulled the show because an investigation determined that the Hollywood Foreign Press had no minority membership.  

Last week, I missed it.  Just missed it.  Perhaps there is just too much going on in the world of an employment lawyer these days. I did not post my blog.  I had it written, but just didn’t post it. When I realized it later, I felt so badly that I had let you all down.  

It’s January 8th  as I write this. I am putting away some of the generous holiday gifts I received. Included in those gifts are two planners/journals.  They are very pretty and  beautifully crafted. The question is, for me, whether I will use them.  

When I started to use Zoom, the inability to use virtual backgrounds for my meeting gnawed at me. When I upgrade “Early 2015” MacBook Pro late last year, I looked forward to using virtual backgrounds and uploaded images that reflected the organization involved in the Zoom. I have images for SNAP (Services Now for Adult Persons)

It's a winter wonderland :) I enjoy the change of the seasons and especially the first significant snow.   Although, as usual, the first snow arrives with complaints. Well if you're complaining, you might want to think of moving. I like living here and experiencing each season as it comes and goes.    It's one the alluring aspects of living in the Northeast.
