Great film.

We went to the movies this weekend. It was an empty theatre and we sat right in the middle – but that was so close to the screen that it literally felt like we were in the movie.

If you haven’t seen it (and I won’t ruin it for you), the film is a heart wrenching account of a war story in which the filmmakers graphically take the viewer through some painful experiences. I’m not necessarily a war movie fan, but I thought this was an artfully created story with exquisite cinematography.

Five stars from us. Highly recommend.

Too bad it wasn’t the “War to end all wars”!

We enjoyed it (two weekends ago). A but bummed at the near end; but I somehow expected it.

So interesting---there are quite a few movies this season that my friends/relatives have said were beautifully done---however I find the subject matter in each are things I find difficult. As often mentioned I tend to avoid movies without "happy endings". Everyday issues, client concerns, etc etc etc are often intense---- I don't have much time to watch movies, when I do I need the "good guys' to win, or at least make me feel there was some vindication or understanding.

I've been wanting to see this. Another good one is Midway. Very good story about the attack on Pearl Harbor and America prevailing.
