Anxious much?

Categories
Lifestyle

Lately, for some reason, I've felt anxious and I'm not sure why. Sitting with these feelings is interesting...an overiding feeling like I have to do someting and I don't know what that is. Sort of like an inner turmoil. Have you every felt that?

It feels unusual to me because my normal state of consciousness is calm and centered.

I'm going through the motions of sorting through my thoughts, all the 47 things I need to do, meditating and being mindful.

Maybe I should start drinking heavily :-)

You should read this blog a year from now with the knowledge of how it turned out ( which invariably is fine)!

Good point of timing perspective from Fred. But if you decide to turn to drinking and prefer to reduce your anxiety with red wine, come on over!

I completely understand! "Anxious" seems to be my constant state of mind. I've started focusing on doing one thing at a time; and actually say that to myself as a reminder when I'm doing something and thinking about the 8 million other things I have to do. I also keep a 'to do' list on my calendar. Every time I check something off, I feel better.

In the words of Sinatra. If you don’t drink, The way you feel when you wake up is the best you will feel for the rest of the day.

It’s a calming feeling to be in good company. Figuratively as well as literally.

Deep breaths work for me. And looking around my life and reminding myself of all that is good. Gratitude seems to take me to a different part of my brain. And I tell myself, It could be worse or it will pass. It usually passes. And like Dave says, some good red wine. :)

Meditating is so very difficult. It's so hard to quiet our mind. But I find it very helpful with the stress. Keep going.

only tasks overload could cause perhaps cause that anxiety. Sometimes it can involve a deadline and when you need others to sign off, it can make for some anxiety (but it is really self-imposed.)

Come on Mitch . Get your shit together man . You’re better than this . You’re mind is telling you the same thing . Get out and smell the roses . Like Victoria said .... Deep breaths in the woods . Get a big dog . Roll around with him and wrestle . Get outside your head for awhile . Move to Portugal . Ride some big waves . Wake the fuck up brother . Get perspective . Endorphins man . OD on them . Move on out ! Go ...... NOW !! That’s a direct order from someone who knows . Stop being small . Anxious ? Give me a break .

This time of ther year is very much full of anxiety for me.Drink lightly and relax. The season will be over before you know it and a new year with give us all a fresh start. Maybe with less anxiety.

All I can say is yes....Have a calm app on my phone and some special clips that I listen too. Quiet down the brain. For me it's been most of my life. So I just deal with it...
