Grateful

I enjoy Thanksgiving. It's the one holiday where there's no pressure to give presents or act in a certain way. It's about giving thanks and being grateful for what you have.

I sat around the table last Thursday looking at my family. Although everyone wasn't there, it was nice. I looked at my Mom and hoped this wasn't the last one she'll see. I'm not even sure she'll remember this in a couple days when I see here again. But no matter, we are here....breathing, alive and for the most part, enjoying each other while eating some delicious food.

Gratitude is one emotion that often courses through me. Although some days I get caught up in the pace of business and life, I try to pause during the day and feel how special it is to be here.

Thank you.

Grateful for Family, Good Friends, and Good Health!

Really concur with Wheelman's view of the day.
Always nice to be around family and with social media now what the other do from afar. This was first Thanksgiving in many years an expectant mom graced our table.

Thanksgiving is a HUGE DEAL in my extended family. And somehow, we have managed to hold our celebration in the same house since 1971-- consecutively! I missed a total of six years (four of which were due to my living in Buenos Aires in the 1980s and two when my wife was very pregnant with two of our children in the early 90s). Heirloom recipes (going back to my great-grandmother) are a big part of the celebration.
