Snoozing. . .

I have a habit that drives my husband crazy; I am a snoozer. Every morning, I set my alarm clock for, at least, fifteen minutes before I have to get out of bed. Then, in the morning, I let the alarm clock go off and hit the snooze button, at least three times. Obviously, my snoozing habit wakes my husband up if he’s still sleeping.

My husband is not really a snoozer. He sets his alarm for the exact time he wants to get up and gets out of bed. As a doctor, my husband also tells me that snoozing is not really healthy for me. He tells me that uninterrupted sleep is better for you than interrupted sleep.

I know my husband is right. And every night I vow to change my habit. But the next morning, when the alarm goes off, my arm reaches out and hits the snooze button. Are you a snoozer?

I'm with you Rona... I set my clock for 1/2 hour before I have to get up and hit the snooze button twice. I don't believe your doctor --- snoozing is different than sleeping. It gives you a chance to s-l-o-w-l-y adjust and think about the coming day. I don't know how people can just wake up and jump right up out of bed. My husband does that and I think it's unnatural LOL.

In my unofficial survey, I find women tend to hit the Snooze button more than men. Men tend to just wake up and get out of bed, while woman are more likely to take their time getting up. My wife hits snooze all the time. I hate it and it does wake me up, at which point I end up getting up, even if I intended to sleep in.

In my house we are both snoozers, although if measured in degree I am much snoozier than Bill. I really need to ease into my day.

I'm not a snoozer. I usually take short naps. in fact, the other day I slept through my nap.

Rona,

We're two peas in a pod! I do the exact same thing, and it drives my poor, long-suffering wife crazy. Even after nearly 26 years of marriage, I continue to plague her...

I get up around 5:00 to let our dog Charcoal out and then come back to bed to laze and drift in a proven creative haze until about 6:00

Not a fan of the snooze button, but I do ease into my day with tea, meditation and the treadmill.
