The Urge To Move

Countribike, September, school

September is upon us. It seems to come quicker every year. I'm told that's a function of getting older, feeling like time is moving more rapidly. The onset of fall seems to be a big time for change.

My Facebook feed is full of pictures of children starting school, most are absolutely adorable.

My friend, Jeanette bought her first apartment and my friend Elise, who lived here in NYC for a couple of years, then moved to Louisville, now has gone to Canada for Grad school.

Even Google has changed its logo.

The most impressive is my friend, Jeffrey. He has taken a Citibike and is riding across the country. Amazing. He didn't like his job but he loved his commute, so he decided to "follow his bliss" and hit the road. I strongly suggest you keep track of him at his website http://www.countribike.com. He's a good writer and his adventure is funny, moving and interesting.

What is it that makes us pick up and move on? It's how I ended up in Manhattan, 40 years ago, but that's another story...

Do you feel the fall approaching? Does it make you want to move or just clean the house?

I have great admiration for anyone beginning a new journey. Sometimes those journeys are right at home.

Couldn't agree more, Sonia. How about Brian Wilson, now there is a journey we will see.

How does one take a Citibike across the country? Isn't there a fee?

I love to clean out closets in the fall. Its cleansing

Read his story. He just never checked it back in, they charged him for the bike and off he goes...
You would think they would like the publicity.

Rona is correct as to a fee on the citibike but that's another story; maybe the gentleman's blog will explain.

Why not move forward building/ drawing on the past? Find success in re-packaging and reform.
