The Three Stages of Life

Categories
Health

Over my many years I have learned that there are three stages in life: Youth, Middle Age and "You Look Good!"

I'm not saying that I look good, but I have survived the first two stages and work hard every day living right to earn the third accolade.

If anyone is interested in the details feel free to let me know. :)

Curious at when you found yourself in stage 3. And it must feel very good to know hard work pays off!
p.s. heard somewhere that repetition works.

It's more than "look"; you look good and DO good. I am sure you did good all your life.

It's funny, "middle age" moves as the years go on. Good nutrition, exercise and enjoying life are generally how I stave off "middle age". I'm also willing to share details to anyone interested.

Youth = You have time, you have energy, you have no money.
Middle age = You have energy, you have money, you have no time.
"Mature" = You have money, you have time, you have no energy.

Here is hoping you have all three!

Just look forward and don't think about it.

You do look good.
I'll be 61 next Weds. And I'm just getting started.
Haven't begun the planking yet but I do take better and better care of myself.
I'm just in the middle of my lifespan so I've still got time to learn from my mistakes.
I'm inspired by you and other Gothamites to be my best self, age is irrelevant-
Except when referencing old movies. Kids don't get black & white, they do somehow know all the words to Queen...

I don't know Bro...You look a little "thick" in the pic.....The third stage comes up fast...My 22 year old son (Luke ) and I were out in the Bureau of Land Management wilderness today....Shooting everything we own...He danced like a Gazelle while carrying "targets" up and around the hills. I was envious of his stamina and balance and lack of fear. Of course it's been less than a week since he graduated Quantico...I on the other hand and much like you are in a constant "look in the mirror" mentality. Being 71 next week I stay in a state of denial thinking that woman still find me virile and attractive. I'm sure not. But I try. In my gym every morning. Somebody once told me...I think it was Arnold Shwarzenegger that if you can bench press your body weight 10 times you are a strong man. I can and I weigh 212 down from 220 6 months ago. Can I throw a tight spiral with an NFL football . Yes. With a little wobble at the end. Just at the wrong time. And....I can still hit a fastball. Only trouble is...My wife barely acknowledges my Third Stage talents...It's 9:45 at night and she just said.."I'm going to bed to read my book and I'm putting ear plugs in. " I'm not far behind. I only have 4 or 5 hours to go before my Labs will push into the bedroom and climb into bed to cuddle and snore with me ( hence the earplugs ).....drives Diane crazy...By the way I ate a peach WITHOUT Trader Joe's vanilla ice cream tonight. Stone fruit season. The best. The key is to keep moving. Move baby ! Right into the Fourth Stage !!!

I always thought the three stages were: Following someone else's rules; breaking a lot of the rules; and making my own rules.
