I spied the above photo recently on Facebook. It rang true.

What could be better than a picture of an Oracle dispensing his hard earned wisdom: I'm suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog when it doesn't like a person.

I am a reformed dog hater. My reformation occurred upon the advent two years ago of our wonderful Schnoodle Charcoal. Her only problem is that she loves everyone.

I wonder what Bill Murray would say about that?

maybe because you have a lovable circle of friends :)

In the City one of the few things that actually causes people to stop and interact is when one or both have a dog. I love stopping and getting a little puppy love every once in awhile. As for people who don't like dogs ... don't trust 'em.

I am a HUGE canine lover. My wife and I have had a collie, poodle, soft-coated wheaton terror (yes, I spelled that right) and now a wonderful Havanese. NEVER trust someone who does not love dogs!!

I love other people's dogs... but prefer the independence of cats. :)

Oh man Fred...This is a good one ! So...I think I've made my personal feelings about dogs well known to the group. This morning I was already in the woods at 5:30 AM with Finn and Kona. They'll be 5 on July 1. Occasionally I run into a kid or even an adult who are deathly afraid of dogs. I immediately despise the parents of that kid and or despise the adult who cringes away , hands flailing at the approach of two of the most lovable Labradors on the planet. I find that I am not interested in WHY they are afraid. I consider them to be weak. That's my weakness. Being blindly judgmental. I don't care. I have a female friend that I've known for 40 years or so. She is a cat person and is tentative around dogs. I don't know why I'm still her friend. She's drop dead gorgeous. Maybe that's why. But she's also so far to the Left and reads the NY Times. Ugh. I digress. I have 4 dogs and 3 cats. I love MY cats . They are big mountain cats that live outside and inside and have a choice about everything. THEY don't like ANYBODY. Except the immediate members of our family including the dogs. So...I find CAT people to be weak minded Liberals....And if my dogs don't like somebody neither do I. And if someone doesn't like my dogs they are assholes. Living in California I am surrounded by The PC Police. I am married to the Chief. Thank God she is an Animal Whisperer. How bout them Yankees ?

My Colby loves everyone except for this aid who worked at the vet where we used to board her. Turns out he was let go for secretly abusing the animals. Theory proven.

I used to be afraid of everyone except my Mommy because I grew up in a shelter, but now I love (nearly) everyone and will come up and introduce myself to you if you let me. But my Mommy will whisper to me when she sees someone who doesn't like dogs, and then neither of us likes that person. Happy Father's Day to you and Charcoal, Annie

Here's a memory about Lady, a gorgeous Shepherd-Husky mix who had one blue eye and one brown eye. One neighbor was positive that Lady was giving her a "dirty look" and actually ran from her when we got off the elevator. We didn't like that woman at all!

Dogs are a better judge of personality than we are. I think it has something to with the scent certain people give off. When my dogs don't like someone, neither do I. As long as I don't start to sniff people in public, I think I'm okay.

Charcoal is raising you---I would love to live a day in her eyes, where there is no division of ANYTHNING...just pure unconditional love.
My dogs are two of the most important "loves" of my life.

Hysterical.
My son was around 5 years old, we were walking out of a drug store together and he ran ahead of me and procceded to put his hand and face all over this beautiful blue nose pitty. He was promptly licked and loved right back. When I asked him why he did that---"She's so cute."
Works for me!
