Flo's mom passed away last week. I liked Sue, and I think she liked me about as much as she liked anyone who wasn't directly related to her by blood. Sometimes it was hard to tell, because Sue suffered from Alzheimer's for most of the years that I knew her.
Sue was a private person. Her family was IT -- the beginning and the end. If you were let in, you were blessed, if you weren't, you had to deal with it.
If it is true that “what goes around, comes around”, Sue must have given a lot. In the last years of her life, she received a tremendous amount -- from her husband (who predeceased her seven years ago) and from her children.
So, when I want to know the Sue who I never had the opportunity to know, I look at my wife and my brothers-in-law. They are, in large part, what Sue made them.

My mom was named Sue too and suffered from dementia at the end of her life, so this touched me deeply reminding me how short our time is and how much we have to be grateful. You and Flo are part of the heart of Gotham.

My deepest condolences to Flo, yourself and your families. Flo has taught many of us "grace under pressure."
Thank you for sharing Ben.

Mother died of dementia-- it was a 5 1/2 year long goodbye. I comfort myself in knowing that we honored her wish to stay at home, and her outstanding, devoted, wonderful caregiver, Kathy French, made that possible. October 16th will be seven years that Mother's gone... Sorry to hear about Sue... Been there, done that.

I feel privileged to have spent time this week with Flo's Aunt learning about their family's history during the war years.

I never met Flo's mother, however I could tell she was a very special woman, hearing the stories at her funeral service and speaking with relatives at shiva...the best testament is Flo herself!

On behalf of my family I want to thank Gotham for the overwhelming support and outpouring of love and caring....it makes such a difference during this difficult time.
My mom suffered a devastating disease which sadly afflicts so many of our loved ones...time to put an end to Alzheimer's Disease.
