LeBron

I have ignored professional basketball for the most part this season given the dismal showing of the Knicks, and don't really care who wins the NBA Finals.  But things as they are, I am pulling for Cleveland.

I felt sorry for the Cavs after LeBron ditched them years ago after his pathetic interview boasting about taking his talents to South Beach.  He lost the favor of most fans on the east coast and seemed to be an opportunist at its worst.

And then there was the Cav's owner, declaring, angrily, that Cleveland would win a championship before Miami. Well that was not even close to happening.

Has LeBron redeemed himself at all? I think so.  I think the fans in Cleveland deserve the victory and I would like to see it.

He is playing with a depleted squad and doing it all (with the help of 3 ex Knicks).

Used to be a Knicks fan in the 70s, Walter Frazier, Earl Monroe, Phil Jackson, Bill Bradley...then a Michael Jordan fan...then lost interest in sports, except the Olympics. So this is way out of my league.

On my dislike of basketball: I think it was in Woody Allen's "Annie Hall" that some character commented on basketball in a negative way. The line was "What is so endlessly fascinating about a bunch of pituitary cases trying to stuff a ball through a hoop?"

I never quite took to LeBron off the court; I appreciate his talent and drive on the court. Not sure if I care; I watch very little playoff ball after the demise of the local teams.
