Are you on Facebook?  If not, in my opinion, you should be.

Why?  Because it is a great connectivity tool.

We talk at meetings about the need to have one on one meetings and participation in Gotham committees and events, in addition to attendance at regular meetings, inorder to maximize the networking experience.

However, in my opinion, the secret ingredients are memory and personal info tid bits to fuel relationship building and bonding.

What better source than Facebook where folks are at ease and having fun telling stories and sharing images.

I think, no, I know, it works.

All things being equal, people do business with those they like.

As they say: Try it you'll LIKE it. :)

I often tell colleagues and friends that a friend criticizes me for not using the platform enough. I believe you know that friend better than anyone else.

FB is the largest social media network in the world and considered the most effective one to use for business.

Maybe folks are too lazy to use this potent tool.

I am! The link to my personal page is https://www.facebook.com/liz.saldana.37. If you're on FaceBook and we aren't "friends" yet, let's connect. Fred loves when I dispatch the flying monkeys. :)

I plan to create a business page for those interested in what's happening in the real estate market. Stay tuned!

I like meeting with people face to face but it's not always possible. And typically the conversation will be business or get focused on one subject and then the clock strikes and it's done. FB is a wonderful way to supplement the meetings and 1-1s while building a relationship. And what we see in FB finds its way into face to face encounters. The nice thing is that we can make FB whatever we want. It's a great platform for sharing fun.

Facebook has it's purpose but I see it less of a tool for business interaction as it has become so overused (in my opinion). I have become desensitized to the constant barrage of updates that usually amount to a description of a meal or hanging with fiends for a drink. This causes me to just delete the updates, at the expense of potentially missing some important or life changing event. I know I always send Birthday wishes on Facebook and unfortunately communicated passing of loved ones though that forum. But for business, I am more in tune to LinkedIn than Facebook.

There was a picture of the Dos Equis gentleman on FB yesterday, perpertrating to be Fred Klein. Check it out.
I love facebook. For me, its pure fun, I try not to be friends with any business clients.

A perfect lead in to my blog on Monday. Did you hear about the discussion at LI Women last Tuesday?

I can't possibly describe in this small box all the ways Facebook has helped me personally and professionally.
Maybe it's a future blog topic. Let's just say,as with every tool, it has many uses which some seem to waste and others use to help. The inspiration, creativity and heart are infinite. If you aren't seeing that, you need to follow different people. Other than Fred and Liz, try Sonia and Shelley, always upbeat and interesting.
And it is FREE.

Ugh. Double ugh ! Idiotville..... Facebook this Facebook that. Americans fiddle while Rome burns. Talk about insidious ! Let's share everything with everybody. I want lots and lots of people to know all about me and I want them to see pictures of my whole family and all my friends and how much I love to party and where I live and who my kids are and where do they go to school and my wife's birthday party pictures. Are you freakin' kidding me ? Discuss this discuss that ? What ever happened to privacy ? We are feeding into what I consider to be the end of humanity as we once knew it. The world is changing. For the worse. ISIS is knocking on the door. The world is burning itself down. The USA is in a death spiral. And we fiddle on Facebook. Bobby Lieb knows where your wall safe is in Key West. Did you put the combination on Facebook ? The first thing The Marine Corps told Luke when he went to OCS in Quantico was.." Delete your Facebook page" and that's almost impossible. I realize that I might be talking to deaf ears here. I know that I'm probably on a liberal blog....I guess. They are sucking us in bro....I'm going farther to the right. I won't fire until I see the whites of their eyes. But I will fire !!

Yes, I am on facebook. Though you should be selective about what you post it can still be fun to share-- though not everything!!!! Great to see what the people you are connected with are doing.

I went on Facebook some years ago to monitor what my children were doing/saying on the site. As I suspected, they were rather circumspect, posting pictures of themselves and their friends smiling and looking well-dressed. I'm still on it, but don't use it much. Perhaps I should use it more?
