T-Shirts and Caps

We got away from the cold last week. Sun, warm, beach, T-shirts. Lots of T-shirts and baseball-style hats. Almost all had something to say.

In first place were those reminding everyone that we were in Aruba. Perhaps intended to be helpful to others who may have forgotten where they are, yet understandable only for those who may have forgotten to pack a crucial coverup.

In second place were shirts and hats that touted sports teams. Too many Patriots T-shirts -- for me, a persistent and painful reminder of the Super Bowl. I did not strike up a conversation with any Patriot T-shirts.

The next most-popular theme seemed to identify other places visited. As in the past, I saw a few “Black Dog” insignias that matched the one on my singlet, homage to the tavern and restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard. I spoke to them.

I saw only one Yankees cap, one Nets cap and one Rangers T-shirt. Nothing from the Knicks or Mets. Given the current state of New York sports, a fair non-representation of fan affiliation.

Me? I had the Black Dog singlet mentioned above, two Jimmy Buffet concert T-shirts, and a few solid, monochromatic, expressionless T’s. I did buy a singlet with “Aruba” emblazoned across its chest. I’ll wear it on Martha’s Vineyard.

We leave for St. Maarten, Sint Maarten on Saturday. Today is going to be a perfect day to pack. :)

I so agree about T-shirts and caps. You tend to buy them on vacation with local logs but it is silly to wear it if in that area. I am currently packing for Hawaii and am thinking what should I bring. I end up rarely wearing them other than at home. Go figure.

I only packed 11 pairs of flip flops this time! Better than 18 last year....
One broke so that left me with 10.....perfect!

I'd likely be sporting what I wear almost every day. Have them in a # of varieties.

When I was in school, that's what they called our wrestling uniforms. Was Ben walking around Aruba in a wrestling outfit?
