End of Summer Blues

Categories
Holidays

I started writing this blog on Labor Day, the official start of the end of Summer blues and the unofficial end of Summer.

Are my moody blues darker due to having experienced a once in a generation perfect Summer?

I don't know for sure, but my wistful earlier blog was not entitled "Endless Summer" by accident.

Yeah, Fall is nice, but I have to wonder if the derivation of that season's name has anything to do with my feeling I'm about to fall into an icy abyss.

Do you have a fear of Falling?

Love Fall, but the temperatures have not been exactly fall-ish yet. In fact, I'm developing a theory that I'm going to run by Al Gore, that the seasons have shifted by a month. It seems to be getting warm later in the spring and getting cool later in the fall. I'll get back to you on that.

Between Sunday nights, end of summer, etc., there are 2 or 3 good days a year.

Embrace Fall - certainly for the next few weeks of (hopefully) perfect weather. We have time to worry about the icy abyss.

Post Labor Day just moves the hoops inside to a gym instead of a hard concrete playground court so my feet look forward to that (even though playing inside last week felt like a sauna). The only impact is how "clothed" I must be when I am enjoying my deck or set up my office there. And the great music from the summer seems to extend into the Fall, at least to the end of next month -- I know some here look forward to a rather exciting concert then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqDmwO4gzUo.

Hot Town Summer in the City...Back of my neck gettin' dirty and gritty.....Fall used to be my favorite time. I used to actually take some vacation in October. Why? The Yankees were in the playoffs every year. The Giants were a good football team. Out here in California thanks to the NFL ticket and The YES network I was in heaven. No more. For some unknown phenomenon both teams have become so bad so fast that it staggers the mind. It's a New York Team style collapse. We have a drought out here. I mean...we are trucking in water at 10 cents a gallon. Being that I am married to the water Nazi...Life is tough. I shower at the club and shave at the club. We are using pool water to irrigate. We are saving all gray water for irrigating the vegetable garden. No end in sight. There is a sign over every toilet that says.." If it's yellow it is mellow if it's brown flush it down." Get it ? Paper plates, plastic silverware and the laundry mat....We used a mere 88 gallons of water last month. I digress. Fred....Retire and move to Key West like Janet suggested. I bet if I invited her she would come. We'd stay at Violi's hotel with the Do Not Disturb Sign on the door. But she remains mired with another weirdo loser. I would take video. You could watch it later.
