The Sacrifices We Make

Categories
Lifestyle

It’s that time of year where I play the role of a dutiful wife. I only do for my husband once a year so I should be a bit more easygoing about it. But I cannot even pretend to enjoy it because I dislike it so much.

There is nothing about it that I like. It’s dirty, smells awful, and there is nothing about it that interests me. In fact, when I was newly pregnant with my oldest daughter, it made me wretch. My husband, on the other hand, loves it. As we move towards it, he can barely contain his enthusiasm. His exhilaration is written all over his face which, at least, makes me pleased that I gave my annual consent.

Of course, I am talking about my yearly spring trip to Home Depot with my husband. Do you feel the same? What sacrifices do you make for your spouse?

I watch less and less games on TV, but, for whatever the reason, the Rangers are tolerable. Go Blue!

Probably not as many (innumerable) concerts as I would like to attend. Otherwise prefer not to give up "trade secrets".....

It is most definitely sports!! I joke that we were married under false pretenses based upon Bill's representations that he only watched the Giants on television. Turned out to be a bit of an exaggeration.

Home Depot is a great place with endless possibilities. Usually when I was there it was after having consulted my father about whatever project we were working on.

I'm pleading the 5th. If I listed all the sacrifices I make for my husband, I'm afraid you and Nancy would arrange an intervention.

I only go to Home Depot if Alan comes shoe shopping with me, luckily, they are in the same shopping center!

Definitely sports. Brian always told me he would rather play sports than watch them but the older he gets the more he seems to spend time watching Oh well. Guess that's the price I pay!!!
