Triumph of the Will
We have a next door neighbor, Charlotte (Charlie) Johnson, who we have known for over 6 years and have seen mature into an accomplished young woman.
After suffering a number of medical setbacks for over 2 years, surviving a serious bike accident and changing schools, she found herself falling behind, but found her niche in a local high school/college program and figured out how to take the SAT test without asking for (needed) extra time.
After all was said and done, she didn't feel sorry for herself, blame others or complain, she just persevered, applied herself and came out on top!
With all the troubles and hardship in today's world, it is a pleasure to observe accomplishment nearby and to acknowledge an example of triumph of the will.
Congrats Charlie and keep on willing yourself onward!

Tacking to the left, to the right
Port and starboard
I’ve sought to understand the voice
Not as a command but as a whispered breeze
A chrysalis journey
Seeking meaningfulness not yet understood
Through waters shrouded in mist
Being “pulled by the future”
In liminal space— shedding, transforming, emerging…
Giving life
