Spring Get Aways

My wife and I love exploring the New England area in the Fall for a weekend get away. This year we may switch it up and "Spring" out of town for a few days. We've been fortunate to have visited Bar Harbor, ME [favorite], Portsmouth, NH, Salem, MA, Burlington, VT, Kenoza, NY, Beacon, NY, and Lake George, NY over the years. Looking for a new recommendation - heard Woodstock and Ithaca are good options.

Would love to hear other's favorite "escape from NY" local get aways!

Check out the town and surrounding areas of Hawley, PA and Lake Wallenpaupack. We used to go there monthly for a quick day or weekend trip. Fond memories.

I have not explored New York State much, so await your report. This Spring we are planning to take the train and explore places along the Hudson River.

Just came back from a long weekend in the Finger Lakes - stayed at The Lake House at Canandaigua (family wedding) and visited Cornell and Ithaca Falls, Corning and tried for Watkins Glen but park and waterfalls closed until May 1. If you go Lakewood Winery just outside Watkins Glen is hands down the best!

Awesome plans, can't wait to hear about your Spring "train"ing up the Hudson. lol. Cold Spring is a quaint town to stop in at!

VT is beautiful! I forgot to mention Stowe was a ski trip a couple winters ago. Can't wait to get back up to that amazing state and see how we can fit in Manchester!

Sounds like the Finger Lakes area has plenty to offer and best to wait for warmer temps to hike and go "chasing waterfalls". Pit stops at a winery are never a bad idea!
