Spring

When I realized that my blog day this week fell on the Spring Equinox, I cast aside my drafted blog to celebrate the arrival of Spring. (My sympathy to those of us who live - permanently or temporarily - in warmer climes where the significance of Spring goes unappreciated.)

For me, Spring is the time for growth and, more-importantly, optimism. The barren branches and stems begin to show signs of rejuvenation and life. Our faith in nature is restored.

So, celebrate this first day of Spring.

When I lived in FL the term "season" was associated more with the arrival and departure of snowbirds than with the subtle changes in nature. Here I note the arrival and departure of a different sort of bird following their migratory paths. It's lovely to see and hear them again.

Spring in NY is about 9 days ahead of Connecticut, so we just have buds and crocus peeping out.
In any case, take a break from the computer screen and take a walk when it isn't raining!
