I know that everybody has a back story and very few of us have it easy, but if you work in the service industry, service is your most important product!

If I come into your establishment to enjoy myself, please do not tarnish my enjoyment with your attitude. If you are busy, that's good for business and should make you feel positive.

If you are the bartender at a sports bar and I come into your establishment and ask to see a specific hockey game which is about to start, don't make me wait while you clean the bar and show me attitude when I politely ask for my game again 15 minutes later!

It's a sports bar and that's what it's there for. Don't call me "Brother", please just do your service job!

Not good service for sure. I have never had an issue of changing the channel unless others around me disagreed.

A F/B operation won't lose me if the for isn't always the best, but when it comes to service, they get one shot. I've go out for the service.

Bad parenting! And probably bad hiring practices. Could you ever imagine your children not being warm and welcoming in a service industry job like that? Unfortunately, there is a lot of that these days.

That’s the only way to teach them. But you should definitely let a supervisor know why, that way they can get better.

I agree. I have notice the service industry develop an attitiude as well. Its become common unfortunately. Not only at the sports bar but everywhere else, When a customer walks in the door focus on the customer not your iPhone.

I once had a fight with a bartender because he had 10 screens going and he wouldn't put Jeopardy on one of them.

It amazes me that some companies and small businesses get it so right and that's no accident. The key is in the hiring, the company philosophy and the training along with effective communication.

Some people like POWER where they can find it. Not good for business!!

The lack of good service befuddles me, especially when coupled with the server's self-cherishing. It makes me think of our political leadership.
