The Meeting

Inspired by true events…,
I recently attended a business meeting. The nine of us were seated around a very large conference table.
All but one - a woman- in suits and ties.
As I looked around the room, it was a familiar, albeit, very outdated image. Suits and ties. Only one woman in the room.
I struggled with whether I was comfortable or uncomfortable.
Where was the rebel? The nonconformist and contrarian were missing.
As I looked around, I wondered whether I was in a time warp -- thrown back to days gone by. Would I ever be in such a place again?

The old stereotypes are more prevalent that one might think. They become more competitive in certain industries (construction, commercial real estate, automotive, aviation) and among C-Suites everywhere.
