Lights Camera Action

This came from a colleague of mine. I think it is worth sharing.

Just a quick story and lesson.  We recently pitched a client on a new engagement.  Client was interviewing another law firm in addition to us.  The client selected us and we have been retained.  I casually asked the client why they selected us … and the client responded that part of the reason they selected us was because I put my camera on during the Zoom interview and the other lawyers kept their camera off during the Zoom interview.  Client had their camera on during both calls.  I always make it a point to keep my camera on if our client (or potential client) has their camera on during a video call.  I think that is best practice.

Camera off when spouse enters the room and starts talking or changing his clothes.
The talking distracts me. The naked man might distract others.

Camera always on. I just don't understand why anybody would turn a camera off during a consultation. To me, it would indicate they have something to hide.
