Outlook

As I live my life I concentrate on not allowing my mind to enter dark rooms where depression and despair reside waiting to cloud my outlook on life.

Consistent with my oft stated mantra "Up is down and down is up" I always seek to see the bright side of a situation or event.

I try to spread this "cheer" to those who have been brought down and deflated by recent events.

Truly, anticipation is worse than reality.  The sun will come up each morning to light the way and as the Beatles sang:

There's nothing you can do that can't be done!

Great outlook! Roll with the punches!

And you better start swimmin or you’ll sink like a stone.
Cause the times they are a changin.

It’s our reality now - but if you let it poison your mood - then it’s a double loss. We don’t know what the future holds- but each single day is a gift and a promise.

Thinking helps. Think about how to move what bothers you into action. Think about what action you are capable of taking today that will alleviate that anxiety. You already know, deep inside, where the anxiety comes from: fear of a repetition of something traumatic in your life. Today I am going to go confront one of our US Senators about keeping immigrants and migrants safe in America. The fear and depression on the faces of those among us who are in danger is now spurring me into action, makes me less depressed, and makes me stronger.
Shelley Simpson

I'm with Tessa - being in action and doing for others is the way to go.

Don’t forget to breathe and keep a journal of your favorite memories including people who make you laugh, Charcoal and your grand kids.

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing
And
Always look on the bright side of life
(Come on)
Always look on the right side of life
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin
Give the audience a grin
Enjoy it, it's your last chance anyhow
So always look on the bright side of death
A just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughin' as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the right side of life
(C'mon Brian, cheer up)
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
I mean, what have you got to lose?
You know, you come from nothing
You're going back to nothing
What have you lost? Nothing
Always look on the right side of life
Nothing will come from nothing, ya know what they say
Cheer up ya old bugga c'mon give us a grin (Always look on the right side of life)
There ya are, see
It's the end of the film
Incidentally this record's available in the foyer (Always look on the right side of life)
Some of us got to live as well, you know
(Always look on the right side of life)
Who do you think pays for all this rubbish
(Always look on the right side of life)
They're not gonna make their money back, you know
I told them, I said to him, Bernie, I said they'll never make their money back
(Always look on the right side of life)

Funny! I thought of Monty Python when I read the blog. Didn’t think anyone would get it.

This is so important. Thank you. I am staying away from agitating and depressing news, situations over which I have no control, preferring to dwell on what makes me happy rather than what makes me forlorn.

Half full versus half empty is a way to keep the positive vibes alive!

It's a great philosophy. it's one that, sometimes, takes a lot of effort. . .

I read it again today. Of all the perceptions of wants and value we have within our life what bring us a greatest sense of joy than bring joy to another. I’ve learned that dark days can bring me to contemplation on the sacred. I can stop and reflect on my moments of darkness that allows the light to show more brighter.
