The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), a week ago, declared a drought watch, and New York City issued a citywide drought watch after a historic lack of precipitation.

It's really dry which has caused multiple wildfires, including one that burned nearly 200 acres and led to an evacuation in Livingston, New Jersey. The last time precipitation was recorded in the New York City metro area was Sept. 27.

My lawn is brown, and this fall, it seemed all the leaves turned brown rather than the vibrant colors we normally get. Hopefully, it will rain soon.

I'm a hopeful guy - in more ways than one ;)

Its been a weird year rainwise down south. We see dry spells and then near flood like downpours.

In upstate New York it has rained moderately maybe 3 times in the last 3 months! Dry as a bone!

Finally starting to rain this evening here the city. Mother nature needs to give the streets a good wash down!
