The T Shirt

We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard.
After dinner, I went to the owner, Jenna, who we’ve known for many years, to thank her for the wonderful meal.
I noticed that the T-shirt worn by the waitstaff was available. The shirt simply said “Chilmark Tavern - B.Y.O.B.”
(Since the Town of Chilmark is a “dry town” you have to bring your wine, etc. to the “tavern”.)
I took a T-shirt and reached for my wallet and Jenna smiled and said “Please take it and just wear it.”
A few days later, I was wearing the T-shirt and the general manager of our hotel said “Oh my, I love that shirt.”
I asked whether she had ever eaten at Chilmark Tavern. When she answered “No, but I’ve always wanted to..” Flo said “As a thank you for your hospitality, we’ll treat you to dinner there.”
And so, Jenna was right….just wear the shirt. And, as we all know, what goes around, comes around.”

Excellent blog, thanks for sharing! Tees are a form of advertising and self expression.
